Sounds of the Polestar 2

Here are some sounds from my 2021 Polestar 2.

Reversing Beep

This is the sound the car makes when reversing. It’s a heartbeat tone that is much more soothing than the obnoxious sound you hear coming from Ioniqs.

Drive Hum

Like all electric vehicles, a the car emits an audible hum when driving at low speeds to alert pedestrians.

Blinkers

Most people seem to find the blinker sound to be rather revolting. It certainly is unique.

Proximity Alerts

When backing up, the proximity sensors alert you when you get close to things. They start calm as things get near, but get frantic when it thinks you are about to hit something. Some find them excessively cautious and annoying, but I appreciate them.

Fan Speed

The fans can get rather loud at full speed. So far, I’ve had little reason to run them at full speed, so it hasn’t been a concern.
