Comparing a Polestar 2 with a Tesla Model 3 Performance
Share

Shortly after I purchased my 2021 Polestar 2, I drove a Tesla Model 3 Performance (2024, Generation 1)1. Here are some of my thoughts and comparisons of them.

Looks and Styling

Everyone knows what a Tesla Model 3 looks like: it’s either a squashed Mazda or a flat turtle. It’s an OK-looking car, but not exactly a head-turner.

This particular M3 was jet-black, which looks mean and aggressive, though. Overall, I’m not a big fan of the M3 exterior even if it is fine and inoffensive.

The Polestar 2 is a much cooler design. It sits higher, looks a bit meaner and I much prefer the color, thunder gray.

I prefer the door handles on the Polestar, which you just grab to open. The Tesla has pop-out handles, which look cool, but are more difficult to use, especially in colder climates.
